eBooks

eBooks are Electronic Books that are designed to be read on a computer. "How To" eBooks are particularly popular.
  • You could create your own eBooks and sell them.

Maria Vowell talks about her experiences selling eBooks in Auction Explosion.

In this case, you'd have your own unique product. However, before you start selling you'd need to spend some time to actually write the eBook!

  • You could buy eBooks with resell rights and sell those.

These are eBooks where you can get permission from the author (or the author includes permission) to sell copies of their eBook.

Of course, if you sell an eBook based on resell rights, there may be others selling the same eBook too - which could mean lots of competition! It might help if you can come up with an original marketing twist, and perhaps even try to find good-quality eBooks which aren't too widely distributed.

Additionally, the quality of eBooks with Resell Rights can vary widely, from downright dreadful, to absolutely amazing - so you may need to be a little discriminating in deciding which eBooks to sell.

Note: eBay has rules on the types of digital products you may sell there, and these rules may vary from time to time. For current information please review eBay's policies on downloadable media.
